HUNGRYHOUSE

hungryhouse is an online food ordering platform, enabling users to browse restaurant menus and read customer reviews then order and pay for a takeaway food delivery. The platform signals the end of old stacks of paper takeaway menus and the need to pick up the phone, whilst the website and mobile apps make food ordering an easy, convenient experience with no additional cost to the customer. hungryhouse was launched in 2006 by co-founders Shane Lake and Tony Charles. hungryhouse really began t... o receive attention after appearing on BBC1's Dragons Den in 2007, when James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne offered to invest £100,000 in the business. The deal later fell through but enabled Shane and Tony to secure investment from elsewhere and begin to scale the business. The first mobile app for iPhone was launched in 2011 and Android followed close behind. In 2013 hungryhouse became part of the global Delivery Hero group, the world's largest online food ordering network. Following the merger hungryhouse benefited from a $285 million investment into the Delivery Hero network and grew rapidly in terms of size and capability. hungryhouse hit profitability in Q3 2013 ahead of a rebrand which totally overhauled the brand identity and upgraded the mobile and online platforms. As part of the renewed focus on ease and performance, the brand adopted the slogan "Your hunger. Our Mission" and launched a nationwide TV and marketing campaign in December 2013. The aim was to raise awareness of hungryhouse in every household in the UK and bring better food to the people. Today, the platform boasts a loyal customer base and over 10,000 UK restaurant partners, ensuring it is easy for customers to discover new cuisines or choose from local favourites.
