IfYouTravel's mission is to become Europe's leading specialist and activity travel business. Initially, the company will focus on four specialist travel segments: ifyouski.com (already live in the UK, France, Germany and Scandinavia), ifyougolf.com, ifyoudive.com and ifyouexplore.com. A fifth site, Waxed.com, is aimed at extreme skiers and snowboarders. IfYouTravel has offices in London, Paris, Chamonix, Munich and Copenhagen. IfYouTravel was formed in May 2000 by the merger of three of Euro... pe's leading winter sports travel players: Complete-Skier.com, Skiin.com and Skiguide.dk. These sites were serving up to five million pages a month to more than 750,000 users at the peak of the 1999/2000 season, generating gross travel sales in excess of £1.2 million. In August of last year, IfYouTravel acquired German winter sports leader Skigebiete.net. The company is funded by Europatweb; Aspect Internet, a leading UK technology consultancy, provides technical development and holds a small equity interest. IfYouTravel is chaired by Michael Liebreich, former member of the British Olympic ski team and founder of Complete-Skier.com. Francesca Ecsery-Merrens, formerly Marketing, Commercial, and Business Development Director of Going Places, joined IfYouTravel in August 2000 as Group Managing Director. Andy Hiseman, formerly Publisher of sports magazines at Emap Active, is Commercial Director. Europatweb is the Internet industrial arm of Paris-based Groupe Arnault. Established in mid-1999 with a capital injection of 500 million Euros, Europatweb's mission is to gather and develop Internet-related companies with strong growth potential. In the US, Europatweb has taken strategic stakes in entities such as Quios, Liquidation.com and Metamarkets.com. The European team of Europatweb contributed to the creation of Liberty Surf, the free Internet access provider, set up the financial portal Zebank and took a majority stake in Aucland, one of the leading online auction sites in Europe. Europatweb is implementing its long-term strategic vision through majority or minority stakes in companies such as Flutter.com, ProXchange, WineandCo, Adonsale, Alafolie, Moonfruit, Linbox and NetValue.More
