The company produces biodiesel from feedstock oils; and glycerin, a by-product of biodiesel. Its biodiesel is used as alternative fuel in cars, trucks, ships, trains, and planes. The company markets its products through a network of distributors. Imperium Renewables, Inc. was formerly known as Seattle Biodiesel, LLC and changed its name to Imperium Renewables, Inc. in May 2005. The company was founded in 2004 and is based in Seattle, Washington. It has production facilities in Hoquiam, Washington; and Oahu, Hawaii.
