INFINILED

InfiniLED Limited is a spin-out from the Tyndall National Institute at UCC. It targets high-value niche markets which benefit from the unique performance of the patented MicroLED platform. Its core competence is the design and manufacture of modules incorporating MicroLEDs, optics and the appropriate packaging. The MicroLED is a next generation light source technology which delivers light efficiently and accurately into miniature applications. The MicroLEDs produce a collimated light bea... m directly from the chip. They allow 10 times the coupling efficiency to fit into miniature applications and are 13 times more power efficient when compared to a conventional LED chip. An individudal pixel is 20 μm in diameter and the devices are available as single emitters, large clusters or individually addressable arrays. The arrays enable applications such as printing, lithography and DNA synthesis. The MicroLED technology has been developed for more that 10 years at the Tyndall National Institute. The company has obtained a worldwide exclusive license from UCC. InfiniLED have access to the semiconductor fabrication facilities and expertise of Tyndall, which allows for fabrication of custom LED designs.More
