The Agricultural Technological Institute N ° 18 began its activities in August 1976, with a school population of 28 students, teaching Engineer iero Agronomist, with two specialties; Phytotechnics and Zootechnics. Between 1976 and 1979 permission was accepted by the Federal and State Governments to acquire a land area called El Limoncito. Given this donation, sugarcane producers from Úrsulo Galván, headed by the then Municipal President Mr. Benjamín Rivera Mendoza and the Ejido Commissioner Mr. Laureano Álvarez Zamudio, urged the ejidatarios to swap their lands located in the Municipal Headquarters by those donated by the authorities , in this way the current surface is obtained.
