JOE KUBERT SCHOOL OF CARTOON AND GRAPHIC ART

Located in Dover, New Jersey, The Kubert School teaches students the art of graphic and cartoon design. For artists interested in breaking into the field of comic and graphic art, the Kubert School is where to begin. Founded by noted comic book artist Joe Kubert, The Kubert School offers more than a traditional institution. Classes are held on Saturday schedules, evenings, and during summer sessions. Students are instructed by professionals in the field, and focuses include Character Design, Pe... nciling, Inking, and Sequential Storytelling. Summer sessions last for four weeks, and are held five days a week for three hours a day. Evening classes run for six weeks, meeting once a week for three hours. Students of all backgrounds, professions, and ages are welcomed to apply. Summer sessions allow children age 10 and above to participate. Support services are offered to enrolled students, which include career advising and job placement assistance. Student life activities are minimal, as the Kubert School is nontraditional, however students can put their work on display at student events and Student Portfolio Days. Local art events are advertised on campus and students are encouraged to attend and support local artists.
