JàVU

JàVu is a new kind of local network harnessing the power of geofencing. When you create a post, you also create a geofence in your location with a radius that you specify. When your followers enter that same area, be it the next day or 5 years later, the text and/or photo you posted will automatically be pushed to their phone and from there, they can comment or like it. You also have the ability to subscribe to tags which allows you to receive push notifications from posts even if you are no... t following the user who posted it. If the post includes any tags that you are subscribed to, when you enter the area it was posted in, it will pop up on your phone. Everything so far is what happens in the background, when you open JàVu it becomes even more powerful. The first page you see is the Nearby page. It shows you all the posts closest to you, regardless of whether you are following the user or not. It’s basically the discovery aspect of the app. If you are close to a restaurant, you will be able to see all the posts made about that restaurant including reviews, photos of food, etc. If you’re heading to a concert and your friend who is already there creates a post saying they are already at the concert, when you arrive, you will automatically be notified that they are there. The possibilities are truly limitless. The whole app is beautifully designed for iOS 7 with fades and transparencies throughout with an innovative new way to preview photos without using precious screen real-estate. Other features include: Popular page that shows you which posts are popular this week/month/all time A page that shows you Instagram/Twitter posts that are closest to you (more networks will be added later) An events page that shows you all the recent events like concerts, sports, etc which you can click on and see all the Instagram/Twitter posts that were posted during the event (more networks will be added later) It will only be available on iOS at launch and will be free.
