For those who want a two-year, public community college in a warm, tropical location, Kapi’olani Community College (KCC) might be the right place for them. Located near Waikiki in the scenic Hawaiian Islands, KCC has a wealth of technical and vocational programs in which students can earn an associate’s degree or certificate of completion. Academics and pre-professional program offerings include Culinary Education, Emergency Medical Technician, Exercise and Sport Science, New Media Arts, a... nd Nursing. The renowned Culinary Institute of the Pacific is located on campus, and KCC is regularly recognized for its culinary programs. KCC has an extensive liberal arts program as well. It even provides international study abroad experiences for those who are interested. To be eligible for admissions to KCC, prospective students must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. They must also submit an application along with a fee, official transcripts, and any AP or CLEP scores if applicable. Applicants are encouraged to apply for financial aid to see if they qualify for any aid programs to help them bring down the cost of tuition. Tuition rates are lower for residents of Hawaii.
