At Kiamichi Technology Center in Atoka, Oklahoma, residents can get the education they need to start a new career or enhance their current one. These full-time programs of study take approximately one year to complete. Kiamichi also offers short-term courses for those who wish to enhance their skills or learn a new trade or subject. Kiamichi’s short-term classes include everything from First aid and CPR to quilting, to computer and business classes. Kiamichi accepts applications for full-time admissions throughout the year. Anyone may enroll in a short-term class. All incoming students must be at least 16 years old. Members of the Choctaw tribe may be eligible for tuition assistance. Kiamichi also offers federal and state aid, including Pell grants, SEOG grants, work-study awards and a need-based Oklahoma state grant. Most types of financial aid require a FAFSA. Those who do not receive aid must pay tuition fees by the first day of class.More
