L.A. County Health Services is a community-based municipal hospital system. It operates a national healthcare network throughout the community, including three teaching hospitals affiliated with one nationally renowned rehabilitation hospital, as well as several outpatient clinics, with an annual operating budget of nearly $4 billion USD. They provide services in primary care, adult medicine, family medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics and adolescent medicine, positive care/HIV, premature infant care, and women's health.
