CRYSYS LAB

Laboratory of Cryptography and System Security is committed to carrying out internationally-recognized, high-quality research on security and privacy in computer networks and systems as well as teaching network and system security, privacy, and cryptography in the context of university courses, laboratory exercises, and semester projects. The laboratory also provides consulting services upon request, including ethical hacking, design of secure protocols and system architectures, and risk management. Its team strongly believes in problem-driven, project-oriented research hence it participates in R&D projects, where it collaborates with industry partners and academic institutions and maintains strong international connections.

CrySyS Lab. was founded in 2003 by a group of security researchers at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Currently, it is located in the Infopark Budapest. The heads of the lab were Dr. István Vajda (2003–2010) and Dr. Levente Buttyán (2010-now).
