LEES-MCRAE COLLEGE
Located in the rural splendor of Banner Elk, North Carolina, Lees-McRae is a small, private, Christian college that attracts students from more than 35 states around the country. For those who are interested in acting and theatre, Lees-McRae has particularly strong and comprehensive performing arts offerings, which include a bachelor’s degree in Performance Studies and a BFA in Musical Theatre. Other majors and minors offered at Lees-McRae include Appalachian Studies, Business Administration... , Humanities, Philosophy, Religion and Teacher-Education. For students who would like to blend multiple subject areas there is also an Interdisciplinary Studies major. In addition to the plays staged by the performing arts department throughout the year, Lees-McRae has a lecture series, hosting lectures by evangelical Christian scholars. Other college life opportunities include a select number of student clubs and organizations. Since Lees-McRae is in a rural, mountainous area, outdoor activities like hiking and biking are also a popular form of recreation. Students interested in applying for admissions will need to submit transcripts and test scores. To offset tuition costs students may also apply for financial aid.
