LESOTHO MILLING COMPANY

Lesotho Milling Company is a food manufacturing plant situated in the town of Maputsoe in Lesotho. We pride ourselves in manufacturing top quality products for both the local market, South African market as well as worldwide exports. We provide work to 150+ people from the local community and see ourselves as one of the major investors in the country of Lesotho. Lesotho Milling Company was founded during 1971, as a joint venture between Bremer Mills Hennenman, Ladybrand Co-Operative Ltd, Twee... spruit Roller Mills and the Lesotho National Development Corporation. The company was formed with the view of promoting agriculture in Lesotho and offering employment to the local people and it was driven by the vision of the late Mr Naude Bremer of Hennenman . The mill was established in the northern lowlands in the area of Maputsoe and initially only manufactured maize meal. Wheat milling was added during 1993. The company expanded its operations during 2003 upgraded its milling machinery with more modern technology from Buhler. Today the company has the capacity to mill 90 000 tons of maize per annum and 30 000 tons of wheat per annum and employs in excess of 180 people. The company dedicated to the production of high quality products and service and competes readily with any South African product. It also exports its products to the UK were it enjoys good support. The company also just recently obtained an ISO 22000 accreditation.More
