LIM COLLEGE
For a career in fashion design, look no further than one of the most exciting fashion capitals in the nation, the Lim College in New York City. An education at LIM blends both business and fashion, preparing students for careers in every aspect of the fashion industry. Academics offered at the college include Fashion Merchandising, Management, Marketing and Visual Merchandising. Through these four broad fields, students must specialize in one of five focuses: * Cosmetics * Fashion Commu... nications * Retailing * Styling * Visual Merchandising All programs blend both classroom and outside work, with students applying their lessons practically through internships, work projects, and junior and senior co-ops. Students also take advantage of New Yorkโs inexhaustible work opportunities at some of the fashion worldโs leading companies. The school offers an MBA program with concentrations in Fashion Management and Entrepreneurship. These programs are flexible and made to accommodate both full-time and part-time students. A Peer Mentor program, unique to Lim, is available for experienced juniors and seniors who want to mentor younger students during their education and job search. A wide variety of student clubs and organizations are available to help you develop other skills, like the Fashion Styling, Creative Writing, and Drama clubs, and more. On-campus housing is available and required for incoming students. The school is easily reachable by subway. Financial aid is available in the form of grants, loans, scholarships, and work study programs for students who are eligible. Admissions require students to submit ACT or SAT scores, an essay, two letters of recommendation, and an activity sheet, which details your work experience, awards and achievements, extra-curricular activities, and volunteer work.
