Lumo will change the way we manage freshwater resources. According to the UN 40% of the world will be faced with water scarcity by 2030. 50-70% of freshwater is used by agriculture for irrigation. Current technology to measure and manage water resources is antiquated, the biggest incumbents are analog and manual. We’re going to bring software-first solutions to modernize water management. Our first product will simplify water management and water use reporting for grape growers in California.... Irrigation is the #1 variable cost for specialty growers, which includes grapes, berries, and nuts. Lumo will drastically reduce these costs by saving water, energy, and labor – helping farmers better manage their water resources. We will scale into adjacent verticals like nuts, berries, and marijuana; expand into more geographies; and add additional capabilities like water rights reporting and trading.More
