Mark Duman is a rare blend of clinician, management consultant and patient advocate. He helps organisations realise the full benefit of their services, especially through the oft untapped potential of patients and the public. His digital health journey began in 1994 supporting the installation of a Cerner system to create Europe’s first paperless hospital. At The King’s Fund, Mark promoted shared clinical decision-making by founding the Patient Information Forum, Ask About Medicines campaign and authoring their best-seller ‘Producing Patient Information’. Moving to the BBC, he developed a range of behaviour change interventions to improve public health and lifestyle, including the renowned Fighting Fat, Fighting Fit campaign. Following roles in publishing and telecoms, Mark moved to consulting: clients include Cancer Research UK, Care Quality Commission, NHS England, JnJ, Novartis, Royal College of Surgeons, and 3M. In addition to various advisory and (digital health) mentor roles, he is a NW Service Champion for Diabetes UK who lives happily in Salford, England (despite being Scottish). Specialties: 1.
