MENTAL HEALTH AMERICA OF SOUTH CAROLINA
Mental Health America South Carolina is an affiliate of Mental Health America, founded by former psychiatric patients and Yale graduates Clifford Beers in order to expose and correct the injustices they experienced during hospitalizations for bipolar disorder diagnosis. Mental Health America of South Carolina (MHASC) has been providing mental health services to the state of South Carolina since 1954 as a private, not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization. MHASC celebrated its golden anniversary in 2004 as an affiliate of the oldest mental health advocacy organization in the country.
