A technical school devoted to education and training for an assortment of career fields, the Troy campus of Miami-Jacobs Career College provides students with a strong foundation of academics and tangible experience. Some of the vocational fields offered include: Automotive Technology, Criminal Justice, Medical Assisting, and Veterinary Technology. Students have the option of taking courses during the day or at night, depending on what is most convenient and works best with their busy schedules.... General admissions requirements for the associate's degree and diploma programs include submission of an application along with transcripts or GED scores. Most applicants also need to interview with an admissions advisor, complete a campus tour, and receive a particular score or higher on an entrance aptitude test such as the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam (SLE). Under certain circumstances, students may be permitted to waive prerequisites and take classes out of sequence. Anyone interested in doing this must seek direction from the admissions staff and program directors. Financial aid is awarded to eligible students to help pay for tuition and other supplies, and may include: company-sponsored tuition reimbursements (if provided by a student's employer), grants, loans and scholarships.
