MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL
Created in 1996, Montréal International (MI) is a private-public partnership. Its mission is to act as an economic engine of Greater Montréal to attract wealth from abroad, while accelerating the success of its partners and customers. MI's mandate is to attract foreign investment , international organizations and strategic talent to the metropolitan region , as well as to promote the competitive environment of Greater Montréal. The non-profit organization is funded by the private sector, the ... governments of Canada and Quebec, the Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) and the City of Montreal. Since its inception, MI has contributed to the attraction of $ 10.6 billion in foreign direct investment projects in Greater Montréal , resulting in the creation or maintenance of nearly 52,000 jobs. To date, MI has also contributed to the establishment of nearly half of the more than 60 international organizations in the metropolis and to the arrival and retention of more than 9,000 international strategic workers .
