Moog Animatics was founded with the vision to be the first motion control provider to the automation market to provide true solutions instead of just motors. We first opened our doors in 1987, and in 1989 we released our first products based on the philosophy of understanding and satisfying our customer’s total need. Since then, Animatics has focused its control, amplifier and encoder technologies on the SmartMotor™ product line: the quintessential form of integrated motion control. Two years later Animatics was named #212 of Inc. Magazine’s Fastest Growing Private Companies. Around that time Animatics also won the Editor’s Choice Award from Control Engineering Magazine, Product of the Year from Electronic Products Magazine, and Excellence in Design Award from Design News, among others. In 2002, the Silicon Valley Business Journal named Animatics their 19th fastest growing private company. In the following years, Animatics grew and successfully navigated through more than one economic downturn and the bursting of the dot com bubble but following our customer-focused philosophy, remained the industry leader in motor size array, power, speed, and quality. Animatics was acquired by Moog, Inc. in May of 2011 and became Moog Animatics. Moog Inc. is a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision control components and systems.
