Nepamount staff is first of all a friend’s team, that passion for exploration and tourism got together. The five of us met a few years ago, when we started guiding groups of tourists. The idea to set up Let’s Go Cool (Nepamount) tours and treks came from a cause we hold very dear to ourselves: to preserve our fascinating landscapes that massive tourism is threatening to weaken. We are also aware of the other negative impacts of tourism, when it’s not thought in a good way: pollution, water overconsumption and mispresentation of our culture (amongst others). However, we are convinced that when tourism is well thought out and responsible, it has a positive effect on Nepal and its inhabitants, as well as on the tourists themselves. We aim to make our customers aware of the dangers of many practices in tourism field, and open them up to an alternative, accountable way to travel. The most common treks and tours in Nepal are standard packages, including all the facilities you have at home (wi-fi, hot shower…) but that are not evidence for most of people in other countries, Nepal being one of those. Sometimes, the trekking companies offer tours taking this into account and making their customers sensitive regarding the way they will use these facilities, the responsible behaviors and the ones that are not, explaining the impact(s) such and such habits will have on the region they are visiting and on the local population. Sometimes. But unfortunately it is far to be a widespread practice. When we set up Let’s Go Cool, our first priority was not to teach our customers what to do or not, but to bring them the necessary awareness about our country’s situation and culture. According to us, giving people the full knowledge of the cause is the best thing to do to get them enjoy their stay in the most responsible way. Along the same lines, we want to offer you the possibility to live an authentic experience, to submerge yourself into our culture and traditions. Nepal is worldwide known for its amazing landscapes, wonderful view-points… That’s what gets so many travelers exploring the world’s rooftop.
