The story of North Aware began when software engineer Jamil Khan set out to design a winter coat that truly protected wearers from harsh elements. The result, the Smart Parka, is the world’s first winter coat featuring built-in glo... ves and a scarf, a removable liner, length extension, and special pockets for technology, glasses, and a hat. Khan launched a successful campaign on Kickstarter to fund the initial design and manufacture of Smart Parka, raising $3.25 million in the process. Because North Aware’s founder hails from the world of tech start ups, the company has applied startup methodology to the fashion industry in innovative ways, challenging long-held assumptions about how customers select and purchase apparel. North Aware aims to create the world’s leading brand of clothing, using the highest quality materials available and to make those products accessible to the average consumer. We aren’t a traditional designer brand; but, we pride ourselves on designing trendsetting, groundbreaking fashions that make all of our valued customers look and feel fabulous.
