OHR SOMAYACH

With origins in Israel, Ohr Somayach Tanenbaum Educational Center provides comprehensive educational programs in Jewish studies for the beginning and advanced student. Located about 45 minutes from New York City in the suburban town of Monsey, Ohr Somayach is a cohesive community in a highly personal environment. The Foundational Torah studies program at Ohr Somayach is designed in particular for culturally Jewish individuals with little to no knowledge of their religious heritage. More advan... ced Talmudic studies allow students to work more independently, working one-on-one with an Ohr Somayach Instructor. Other educational options include short-term courses such as those found in the Yeshiva Experience program, a more individualized course in which students can either work on basic Hebrew, Talmud study skills or even on dating and marriage skills. Another similar program for those of Sephardic ancestry provides everything from classes in Torah to courses in spiritual and personal growth. While Ohr Somayach’s programs may be steeped in Jewish tradition and history, the school still manages to update its offerings by providing a number of online courses.
