OPEN PANTRY COMMUNITY SERVICES
Open Pantry's Emergency Food Pantry (EFP) has provided groceries for the homeless since 1975. Neither individuals nor families come to the EFP on a regular basis. Over the past year, they distributed almost half a million pounds of food to those in need. Since 1980, Loaves & Fishes Community Kitchen has provided prepared meals to people who are disadvantaged in Greater Springfield. Open Pantry's Open Door Social Services program offers case management, housing search assistance, and medical, mental health, and substance abuse referrals to homeless people living in shelters, on the streets, or temporarily bunking with friends or relatives.
