ORANGE ULSTER BOCES - SCHOOL OF PRACTICAL NURSING

Practical nursing is one of the fastest-growing careers in the nation. At Orange-Ulster BOCES in Goshen, New York, students can train for this rapidly growing career in a clinical setting. At the same time, they also get the chance to participate in professional student organizations and associations. Orange-Ulster BOCES’ academics provide students with the clinical, medical and patient skills needed to work in: * Doctor’s offices * Hospitals * Nursing homes * Medical clinics S... tudents may also join professional associations such as Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) and Skills USA. Practical Nursing students participate in clinical internships. They also have access to job databases and receive coaching in interviewing skills. The program is immersive. Students attend full time, Monday through Friday for approximately nine months. To help cover tuition and living expenses, Orange-Ulster BOCES provides financial aid in the form of grants and student loans. Admissions requirements include a high school diploma or GED, completion of the TABE and TEAS tests and two professional references. Incoming students will also need to submit proof of immunizations and a physical exam. All interested applicants must first attend an admissions information session, where they may ask questions about the practical nursing program.
