The company provides the Garnet operating system, the successor to the OS that powered the Palm Pilot PDA, and a commercial-grade platform based on the open-source Linux OS for mobile phones. Later on, PalmSource changed its name to ACCESS Systems Americas, a subsidiary of Japan's ACCESS Co., Ltd.
