PHILLIPS BETH ISRAEL SCHOOL OF NURSING
Part of the Beth Israel Medical Center, Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing in New York City offers students a chance to study at a major medical center. The Nursing school also provides a unique clinical training program, which consists of thorough coursework and experience in nursing but is also grounded in the liberal arts. Students at Philips Beth Israel first take classes in the Social Sciences, English and other liberal arts subjects. During their training, students take comprehensiv... e classes in the practice of nursing but also undertake clinical hours, working hands-on at Beth Israel Medical Center and other facilities. Upon completion, students receive an associate’s degree in Nursing and are registered to take the RN Professional Licensing Exam. Prior to graduating students receive counseling in job-search techniques from the career counseling division. In addition to a high school diploma or GED, transcripts and an application form, students will need to submit letters of recommendation and pass a pre-entrance exam. Financial aid, including loans, grants and veteran’s benefits, are awarded to eligible students.
