Piedmont Airlines, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Airlines Group (AAG). Piedmont was founded in 1931 as Henson Flying Service, a fixed-base operator based in Hagerstown, Maryland. Today, Piedmont operates nearly 400 daily departures to 55 cities throughout the eastern United States with a fleet of deHavilland DHC-8 turbo prop aircraft. In 2014, AAG announced that Piedmont would expand to include Embraer-145 regional jets in 2015.
