POINTSHOT WIRELESS
PointShot Wireless have indeed managed to cut many of the wires and cables in their daily lives (radio, wi-fi, mobile networks, satellite communication) but are they really ready to cut the most important one of all? The power cord? Wireless charging is not something completely new. The concept of induction and inductive charging of a battery has existed for a long time. The main problem is the efficiency of charging and preserving battery life for everyday use. Many of today’s wireless cha... rging solutions are only a simple hybrid form of true wireless charging and wired charging. Let’s take a look at Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and S4 devices. Both of them are presented as ‘wireless rechargeable’, but what does this mean in practice? It means that you have to buy a special charging station (which is wired!) and then place your phone on top of the station in order to get a full battery pack in return. Not to mention the recharge time is pretty much double the time it takes to charge via some old-school cable.
