In addition to pre, mid, and post-roll ads, Pause Commercials, or “PUCs”, creates an incremental opportunity for video & display inventory when viewers activate the pause button on their remote control. In layman’s terms, you’re watching a streaming service, pause the device, and a video or display ad appears. Because our pause-ads complement traditional pre, mid, and post roll options, there is potential for broader reach and engagement for advertisers as well as increased earnings fo... r publishers. As of July 2020, the USPTO issued PUCs the patent to the pause-ad method in OTT. Licensing is currently available for publishers and distributors who already have pause-ad capability, and our proprietary technology, including pre-, mid-, post roll, and pause-ads, is available to platforms who don’t have pause-ad capability.
