PRINCE WILLIAM SOUND COMMUNITY COLLEGE

The Prince William Sound Community College in Valdez, Alaska, is not simply a small college in a small town. It is a close-knit learning community that fosters inspiration, growth and learning. Two to three full-length theatre productions are hosted each year, as well as two sets of one-act plays from students in acting classes. A wellness center is also available to all students. Academics at the college include more than 25 undergraduate programs, from associate’s degrees to occupational certificates to baccalaureate transfer programs that are offered through partnerships with universities in the University of Alaska system. Some of the unique programs include Millwright, Oil Spill Response and Outdoor Leadership programs. Admissions are open, allowing any applicant above 18 years of age who has earned a high school diploma or GED to attend. The college welcomes students from all over the world with a flat tuition rate. Students who complete a FAFSA application may be eligible to receive financial aid through institutional scholarships and other forms of federal and state aid.More
