PROJECT IHEAL

COPD a chronic, progressive and irreversible respiratory disease and one of the fastest spreading disease across the world , is all set to become the third leading cause of death by 2030 (*WHO). India has about 30 million COPD patients. One major challenge of COPD management in rural areas is under-diagnosis/mis-diagnosis (for lack of affordable pulmonary function testing equipment in hospitals) In urban areas, patients face the problem of active COPD management after diagnosis. A typical ... COPD patient in severe/very-severe condition makes 40-50 visits/year to lab/doctor and invest enormous amounts of time, effort and money. Patients often receive sub-optimal dosage of medication as doctors rely on most recent spot-measurements OxyTrac is a patent-pending, affordable pulmonary function + oxygen saturation testing & monitoring device targeted for (1) rural hospitals and (2) urban patients (with integrated mobile application for at-home usage , minimizing hospital visits and enabling continuous monitoring /trending)
