Refugees Welcome Australia ("RWA") is the Australian chapter of international umbrella network, Refugees Welcome International ("RWI"). RWA operates autonomously in Australia and follows an independent business model. RWA aims to foster a home-sharing network that promotes cultural diversity, respects human rights and recognises the dignity of each individual seeking asylum. We bring direct assistance to one of the most vulnerable people in the community by providing a free-of-charge or low cos... t, non-discriminatory housing alternative (home-sharing). We address the need for housing by connecting refugees and people seeking asylum with households that have spare rooms. Our mission is to help refugees and people seeking asylum in the Australian community with short term housing. An ancillary benefit has been to enhance refugee integration into Australian society, and to simultaneously promote tolerance and diversity within the wider community. Our vision is to become the number one resource of short term accommodation for refugees and people seeking asylum in Australia.
