SAINT JOHN'S SEMINARY, BRIGHTON

With its combined intellectual, spiritual and hands-on seminarian program, St. John’s Seminary prepares men from diverse religious persuasions to go into the Catholic priesthood. Its idyllic but convenient location in Brighton, Massachusetts, makes it both easily accessible and conducive to priestly studies. The men who go into St. John’s seminarian program come from diverse Catholic orders, including the Order of Saint Benedict and the Oblates of the Virgin Mary. The curriculum is grounde... d both in philosophical and theological studies, and those applying for admission to the program are expected to have undertaken some formal course work in these areas. Students at St. John’s are also allowed to take courses at Harvard, Boston University and Boston College. The service component of the seminarian program involves pastoral assignments at local prisons, hospitals and other facilities. Since the seminary is located off of major bus routes and in close proximity to such major roadways as the Mass Turnpike, seminarians may travel with ease to and from their pastoral assignments and other schools.
