SAINT VINCENT SEMINARY

Saint Vincent Seminary, located outside of Latrobe, Pennsylvania, is a Roman Catholic Seminary founded in 1846. Students can enjoy the tranquility of the campus, or drive just 60 minutes to Pittsburgh, where they can enjoy the bustling city life. Academics at this school are broken up into three master’s programs, a permanent Diaconate program, and a dual degree program. The admissions requirements for this school dictate that students should have a bachelor’s degree, 12 credits in Judeo-Christian theology, 24 credits in philosophy, a letter of recommendation, six credits in Latin, and two credits in New Testament Greek. To ensure students have a fun college life, Saint Vincent Seminary provides students with a pool, gym, soccer and lacrosse fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and many other extracurricular activities. Tuition varies depending on program of choice, and financial aid is available through scholarships. All students are required to take a comprehensive examination that tests their ability to articulate theological matters. Part of the examination is oral, and demonstrates whether or not students can take the material they have retained and apply it in a real-world application by coming to a theological judgment or conclusion. The written portion of the examination tests a student’s knowledge of history, scripture, and theology. This portion of the exam is broken up into three sections, where students are asked to write on Sacred Scripture, Systematic Theology, and Moral Theology.More
