SALISBURY UNIVERSITY
A historical northeastern four-year school, Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland offers a high level of scholarship equally balanced with a dynamic student life. Salisbury majors include a number of academic fields such as Earth Science, English, Geography, Political Science and Sociology. Professional bachelor's degrees are also granted in fields like Athletic Training, Business Administration, Computer Science, Nursing and Social Work. Academics are not just confined to the classroom ... at Salisbury. A number of academic institutes and centers include Academy for Leadership in Education, the Center for Conflict Resolution and a Research Center devoted to History and Culture. Student life features a broad spectrum of student organizations as specialized as the Quidditch Club, the Asian and Pacific Islander Club, the Vegetarian Student Association, and the Colleges Against Cancer Club. There are also political, religious, literary, service and academic organizations, which number well over 125. Salisbury's historical backdrop and proximity to the coastline enrich the aesthetic experience. Transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, recommendation letters and a personal essay are used to evaluate prospective students. Scholarships and other forms of financial aid are disbursed to eligible students based on financial need and other factors.
