Drug resistance is one of the most significant challenges for successful medical treatment in oncology. Right now, half of all cancer patients fail chemotherapy. Although many cancer patients initially benefit from chemotherapy, a large proportion develop resistance to chemotherapy drugs. Few of these patients survive.
