SHEAR ACADEMY

Shear Academy in Crossville, Tennessee, offers a barber training program that teaches barbering skills and more. Students learn various hairstyling techniques as well as other beauty skills, and get to work in real-world salon situations within weeks of starting the program. Shear Academy’s main offering is the Master Barber program. The Master Barber program teaches students how to cut and style both men’s and women’s hair. Students learn other skills, as well, such as beard trims, hair ... coloring and skincare techniques. After only 100 hours of academics and training, students begin working at the school’s salon, where they provide all of these services to the public. Shear Academy also offers a Barber Instructor program to professional barbers who would like to teach barbering. Shear Academy’s Master Barber program is open to anyone with a high school diploma or GED, and accepts new students on a monthly basis. Those who are interested in the Barber Instructor program will need to provide proof of licensure, as well. Eligible students may receive Pell grants as financial aid. A FAFSA is required of all financial aid applicants. Shear Academy also offers tuition payment plans.More
