SHELTON STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
As Shelton State’s main campus, SSCC Martin provides an array of opportunities for personal, academic and professional growth. Shelton State Community College’s academics cover a wide range of subjects, from Fine Arts to Construction & Transportation. Continuing education and distance learning programs are available, as well as workforce development to help strengthen local businesses. Shelton State Community College is an HBCU. Of course, one of the best parts of community college is the ... no-hassle admissions process. SSCC is no exception, featuring an open admissions policy for anyone with a high school diploma or GED. If you have not graduated from high school, you can still enroll in classes at Shelton State, but you must first take the Ability to Benefit test. Shelton State does not participate in federal loan programs, but you should still file a FAFSA to see if you qualify for federal grants. Numerous institutional scholarships are available, based on excellence in academics, leadership, athletics, fine arts or technical ability. Despite being a community college, Shelton State has several student clubs and organizations. Student life is career oriented, and many campus clubs are based on shared professional interests.
