We are silana - automated fashion production. Michael, Anton and I founded this robotics startup to fully automate the production process in the fashion industry. Currently, fashion is mainly produced in Southeast Asia & (newly) in African Countries, which leads to tremendous lead times, an incredible CO2-emission through broad transportation, and slave-like working conditions. This industry faces issues in the whole tripple-bottom-line. By automating the sewing process, a step which is still d... one fully manually, silana will enable relocating the production of fashion to its main markets. This will decrease CO2-emission of production and delivery by an average of 85%, will enhance the business situation for fashion companies by reducing forecasting risks and will make slave-like working conditions in factories vanish. It is our goal to revolutionize the fashion-producing industry with our machine. With the first funding silana secured, we are currently in the process to build the first prototype of our machine in the upcoming months. It will allow us to produce a t-shirt, starting from the fabrics, without manual interaction. Climate change is the biggest threat to our earth. It is still not easy to change our behaviour in a sustainable manner, especially for businesses who have a responsibility to its shareholders. With silana and our concept, we found a way to combine sustainability & profitability.
