SK hynix memory solutions America Inc. (SKHMS America) was formed in August 2012 as a result of the acquisition of Link_A_Media Devices Corporation (LAMD) by SK hynix. LAMD had been founded in March 2004 by storage-industry experts with the mission to deliver solutions for the continuing demands of higher storage capacities and lower cost. As of the acquisition by SK hynix in August of 2012, LAMD became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Korean semiconductor company and subsequently changed name to SK hynix memory solutions.
