SOUTH AFRICAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION
SALGA is the constitutionally mandated organization responsible for local government oversight. It represents local governments at various stages and levels of government. It supports local governments in their efforts of development, assists members in varying ways, and even works to promote women in local government. They aim to ensure that local government realizes and achieves spatial justice and social cohesion through integrated management of space, economies, and people. It is a unitary body that consists of a national association and nine provincial offices.
