Splash Mobile Money offers Splash, a mobile payment system that allows users to send money to other mobile users using their phones. Users can register with an agent, load money into their Splash account, and then send that money to another mobile phone user, using just text messages. Clients using Airtel, Africell, and Comium networks can be registered on the Splash system for free. Users of these networks can receive money through Splash¬ and the electronic money or "SplashCash" received can be converted to real cash with a Splash agent. Splash Mobile Money was founded in 2007 by Sheka Forna and is based in Sierra Leone.
