ST JAMES MERCY HOSPITAL SCHOOL OF RADIOLOGIC SCIENCE

A competitive program that is affiliated with a network of hospitals, St. James Mercy Hospital School of Radiological Science provides a clinical setting for its students and potential work opportunities for its graduates. Located in Hornell, New York, St. James Mercy’s program trains its students to be competent radiological technologists. This is done in part through its clinical assignments, which take place at the hospital’s sites in Hornell, Dansville, Wellsville, Olean and other citie... s. While the school does not have a formal career-placement service, they are part of a network of hospitals that extend all along the eastern seaboard, from Maine to Florida. St. James Mercy does assist students in finding work at one of these hospitals upon graduating. With an acceptance rate of approximately 14 students per year, St. James Mercy’s radiological training program is competitive and, therefore, seeks out the most outstanding candidates. Along with an application, prospective students must submit three recommendation letters and transcripts. Applications are accepted for fall admission only. St. James Mercy Hospital participates in federal aid programs, awarding federal grants and student as well as parent (PLUS) loans to those who demonstrate a strong financial need. New York state residents may also apply for the Tuition Assistance Program, which provides tuition grants to students within a certain income bracket.More
