SUNY CANTON

Part of the highly respected State University of New York (SUNY) system, SUNY Canton offers state-of-the-art facilities and a scenic campus on which to pursue all levels of professional education. Situated alongside the Grasse River, SUNY Canton is surrounded by hiking trails and mountainous landscapes including the nearby Adirondack Mountains. Students may get an associate’s degree, a career certificate or a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Academics encompass a wide range of professional... fields such as Electrical Technology, Graphic Design, Health Care Management, Law Enforcement, Finance, Nursing, Automotive Technology, Civil Engineering, Sports Management, Business, and Physical Therapy Assisting. Partnership programs allow students to pursue medical degrees and more in conjunction with such schools as Syracuse and SUNY Potsdam. Facilities at SUNY Canton are spacious and modern and include “smart classrooms” for almost all departments, including subject-specific labs and numerous computer labs. The library is comprehensive and state-of-the-art, offering extensive book, video and audio collections, the top research technology and even laptops for students to check out. On the recreational side of things, there a number of on-campus restaurants, a fitness center and the Miller Campus Center, which offers recreational activities and hosts cultural events and entertainment. Admissions requirements vary based on the degree for which one is applying. Those applying for an associate’s degree, for example, need not submit SAT or ACT scores, while those seeking admission to a bachelor’s program do. Financial aid may be awarded to eligible students through scholarships, loans or military benefits. Students are also encouraged to seek out alternative financial aid sources.More
