Surfrate was the first internet search engine based on user website reviews. SurfRate (formerly eBusinessRate) was a web-based business where users could rate and review all the websites on the Internet. It was a “user powered” search engine and directory. The goal of the website was to allow users to “surf smarter” by sharing ratings and reviews of the websites they were visiting. A popular reference for the emerging e-commerce industry, it was referenced in Smart Money magazine.
