Spun out of [Stanford University](http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/stanford-university) in 2009, TeachAids is a 501(c)(3) social venture that creates breakthrough software to solve persistent problems in HIV prevention around the world. Backed by [Barclays](http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/barclays-bank), [Microsoft](http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/microsoft), [UNICEF](http://www.crunchbase.com/organization/unicef), and others, TeachAIDS creates research-based software proven to be the most effective HIV education tools, and makes them available for free under a Creative Commons License.
