THE ANGLICAN SOCIETY FOR THE WELFARE OF ANIMALS

Anglican Society for the Welfare of Animals is an Anglican (Church of England) organization founded over 30 years ago. They are called to make Christians and others aware of the need to care for the whole of creation. This includes protecting animals from abuse. Intensive farming, the food chain, animal experimentation, diseases associated with animals, ill-treatment of pets, and killing of animals for pleasure all raise ethical issues. Churches should address these issues as theological ones.
