It holds a comprehensive collection of historical materials related to play which enable a multifaceted array of research, exhibitions, and other interpretive activities that serve a diverse audience of adults, families, children, students, teachers, scholars, collectors, and others around the globe. The Strong is home to the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, National Toy Hall of Fame, Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, Woodbury School, and American Journal of Play. The Strong was founded in 1982 and is based in New York, United States.
