The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in Media, Pennsylvania, is a unique school that offers tuition-free career training to low-income men. The Williamson Free School also provides support with everything from spirituality to basic needs. Training programs prepare students to work in such fields as: * Carpentry * Masonry * Horticulture and landscape management * Machine tool technology Since Williamson is a Christian school, students also engage in religious study, both ... in and out of class. Services are comprehensive. The school provides clothing to students who require it, as well as job-placement assistance and spiritual counseling. Student activities include a student government organization, student music groups and a student newspaper. Applicants must submit admissions applications and transcripts by February for a fall start date. Additional application materials include three letters of reference, a passing score on the ASVAB exam and a personal interview. Applicants must have a high school diploma and must qualify as low-income.
